Casa Hymnn makes extensive use of natural materials, creating an architectural style that blends seamlessly into the rural setting of the Algarve. The building’s orientation and the use of passive comfort strategies all contribute to the influx of natural light and a comfortable and efficient indoor environment throughout the different seasons.
One of the distinctive features of the proposal is the planned construction system, comprising a laminated timber structure and walls filled with bales of compressed straw, complemented by lime-based render. These solutions form part of an approach that prioritises materials of natural origin and seeks to improve thermal and acoustic comfort.
